Michael J Farrahi

Highly experienced in the design, procurement, fabrication, and erection of structural steel, Michael J. Farrahi leads our Overland Park, Kansas team as Managing Principal. He brings four decades of structural engineering expertise to our clients, guiding our structural engineers, steel procurement, and fabrication-ready modelling experts, often working in collaboration with our global teams. He has extensive experience across key project types, including data centers, sports, mixed-use, and transportation facilities, as well as a range of industrial and design-build projects.

Prior to joining DeSimone, Michael founded and led Constructive Engineering Design (CED) for 24 years, a company specializing in steel procurement, structural engineering, structural connection design, and detailing, along with the Steel Frame Alliance, a CED division that specialized in design-supply steel fabrication and design-build services tailored to steel and concrete structures.

He has played a pivotal role in the successful completion of projects nationally and internationally, most recently including the design and supply of structural steel for the prestigious, 1,011-foot-tall 50 Hudson Yards office building and 721 Lexington Avenue, a 57-story, mixed-use tower, both in New York City, as well as the 312,000 SF Alura Smelter Expansion in Port Madrid, Argentina, and the CMC Steel West Virginia Mill Building, a 50,985 SF structure consisting of a melt shop, scrap bay, and crane girders.
