Hospitality & Gaming

We understand that sustaining a consistent brand image—and memorable guest experience—through the properties we help create and shape is paramount for our clients.

Because of the innovation, creativity, and dedicated service we consistently deliver, DeSimone has been retained for multiple projects by most of our hospitality and gaming clients. We partner with leading hospitality brands and their signature architects who make properties into sought-after destinations. We have ongoing, highly successful relationships with global hospitality brands such as Hard Rock, Resorts World, Mohegan Sun, Marriott, Hyatt, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Disney, and many others.

DeSimone’s work in hospitality and entertainment design is internationally recognized as exemplary. Our work in hospitality began years ago when we engineered all phases of Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, including the world’s largest outdoor aquarium, and the Caribbean’s tallest hospitality structure. We were later a driving force behind the multi-phase development of the award-winning $1B Mohegan Sun project in Uncasville, Connecticut, at the time the largest private development on the East Coast. And then we were fortunate to be involved in the MGM City Center project in Las Vegas, engineering several of the hotel towers (at its time, the largest private development in the US).

Our more recent work for the Broward County Convention Center Expansion and Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, a two-phase, 2.1M-SF (195,100 SM) development that enhances the center’s event, hotel, and public waterfront facilities, is set for completion in 2026 with a LEED Gold target.

Our design team brings an integrated array of services to carefully consider a project’s full design and construction process, from site development to ongoing maintenance and operations. For fast-tracked hotel, casino, and resort projects, our integrated in-house structural and detailing teams can significantly expedite construction schedules by employing Fabrication-Ready Modeling (FRM), to prepare the detailed shop drawings required to fabricate the steel structure while the project is still in design, potentially saving months in the construction phase.

DeSimone has working alongside many of the world’s premier gaming and hospitality owners, developers, and architects, creating hundreds of signature destinations. Recent examples include Four Seasons Hotels in Naples, Jacksonville, and Coconut Grove, Florida; the Hard Rock Guitar Tower in Las Vegas and in Hollywood, Florida; Harmony Cove Hotel and Casino in Jamaica, and RIU Times Square.

We’re committed to meeting the sustainable and wellness goals of our clients and their guests, building highly efficient structure to minimize resource use, employing sustainable concrete mixes and slab systems, maximizing natural lighting, and reducing embodied carbon. At the Las Vegas Circa Resort and Casino, our structural engineers and façade and building envelope consultants achieved a 22% lower carbon footprint compared to the average US building by using steel composite material (SCM), passivate stainless steel (PT), and high-strength steel.
