Responsive client service, a highly collaborative approach, and a deep understanding of the industrial and infrastructure sectors—including how these facilities differ and where their communities lay—means dedication to every aspect of your project.
Whether for design-build or conventional construction, our interdisciplinary team understand how a structure needs to be designed and constructed to account for energy loads, heavy equipment, mechanical systems, equipment storage and location, logistics, trucking and loading, and advanced technologies.

The integrated DeSimone team of structural engineers, detailers, façade and building envelope specialists, and vertical transportation consultants work together across disciplines and throughout the project design and delivery process to anticipate issues and provide solutions that affect building performance and operational efficiency, as well as the project’s cost, schedule, and constructability.
DeSimone works directly with owners, developers, and architects, bringing innovation and astute, experience-based solutions and ideas to industrial and infrastructure projects—getting new and modernized facilities quickly and economically up and running to generate revenue as soon as possible. DeSimone helps you build faster, better, and stronger.

We dive deep and embrace each client’s vision and goals, dedicating our full resources with an outsized tenacity and responsiveness to meeting—and even exceeding—those goals. We consistently earn a level of trust among the clients in this sector that motivates them to return to us again and again to take on projects of challenging scope and ambitious parameters. When we engage early in the process, we can bring options to the table that can expedite project schedules, reduce costs, and raise the level of accuracy and precision.
For example, when our clients select DeSimone to procure fabricated steel structure for a facility, they benefit from price transparency and cost certainty, earlier in the process than in conventional delivery. We often combine our Steel Procurement services with Fabrication-Ready Modeling, provided by the integration of our detailing services in the design process, which eliminates the delays and coordination hiccups that come with third-party detailing during the construction process. Locking in steel procurement and creating a Fabrication-Ready Model during design enables our clients to make highly informed cost-aware decisions early in the project process as they are refining the project program, building layout, and materials selection.
Bringing in our tilt-up concrete specialists for appropriate structures adds other important dimension to the range of special expertise that we offer for infrastructure and industrial projects. In-house team collaboration and coordination drives design speed and delivery efficiency, meaning fewer opportunities for error and change orders down the line.

DeSimone has significant experience in multi-story warehouse and logistics facilities, enabling our clients to expand capacity by going vertical in their operations, often in dense urban environments. Recent projects have included the 175,000-SF (16,300 SM) FEDEX Sunset Industrial Park and the 400,000-SF (37,100 SM) Court Street Industrial Facility, designed for resilience in a flood zone with a raised ground floor, and sustainably designed with cast-in-place voided concrete slabs to efficiently create long spans while supporting high live loads, both in Brooklyn, New York.
DeSimone also completed the JAN1 Industrial Building in Jackson, Mississippi, a new, 2,600,000-SF (242,000 SM) steel-framed, four-story distribution and sortation facility, for which we provided structural design and detailing, as well as the 111,000-SF (10,300 SM) DRT4 North Carolina Industrial Building, which features a concrete tilt-up perimeter wall that acts as the gravity and lateral system. In Florida, our engineers completed the 400,000-SF (37,200 SM) Centurion Air Cargo Facility at Miami International Airport, which includes a separate 70,000-SF (6,500 SM) two-story office building featuring tilt-up construction.

About us
In an industry in which consolidation has become the norm, DeSimone stands apart from large engineering practices. The diversification of our services enables us to support a global clientele experiencing complex challenges. We remain independent so that we are able to provide bespoke and personal solutions, wherever your vision takes you.
Structural engineering is where we began, and it is still the core of our practice. But through the years, we have expanded the services we offer our clients, from façade and building envelope to vertical transportation to steel detailing and fabrication-ready modeling to advisory services.
