Ewen Dobbie
Ewen was an early adopter of 3D structural modeling software and is now widely considered one of the leading BIM thought leaders within the AEC industry.
He is based in DeSimone’s Langley, British Columbia office and leads globally integrated design and detailing teams providing comprehensive pre-construction services for clients in design, fabrication, erection, construction management, and related fields.
As principal of our Structural Detailing Practice, Ewen specializes in strategic business management, 3D modeling, detailing, BIM, and preconstruction service operations. Currently, he is responsible for the team providing steel detailing for the NASA Mobile Launcher 2 in Cape Canaveral, Florida, a rocket launch pad assembled from innovative cast steel.
He previously managed projects at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and One World Trade Center in New York City.
