Anaconda Cut

Previously known as Exchange Court, Anaconda Cut forms part of the regeneration of the Greengate area of Salford, England, close to Manchester City Centre.
Re-named in homage to a feat of local engineering to prevent flooding in the 1970s, the design consists of a single, 44-story tower, with 351 apartments and below-grade parking.

Built on a very challenging site, with a river on one side and a two-lane highway on the other, the three-story basement for car parking and plant spaces had to be excavated between these two major constraints.
Specifying high-strength concrete, our design of the structure reduced the size of load-bearing columns and walls while maintaining structural capacity to free up valuable floor space, increase the efficiency of apartment layouts, and enhance the usable area per unit.
An all-concrete tower clad in a seamless glazed curtain wall, Anaconda Cut’s façade features gold-colored reflective metal cladding panels set behind glass that ‘shimmer’ in the sun.
The broader plan for Greengate aims to transform the area into a thriving community through a significant amount of development to be delivered over a period of 10 years.
