Kermin Chok
A highly accomplished structural engineer operating at the intersection of technology, cloud computing, and structural engineering, Kermin Chok’s career spans over two decades.
As an Associate Principal in our Chicago office, his experience leading large-scale, analytically and geometrically complex projects—executed at an accelerated pace—is pivotal to delivering cost-effective, structurally innovative projects for DeSimone’s clients.
Having spent time on the West Coast, he has led structural engineering and computational design teams with an emphasis on performance-based seismic design. He has experience leading architecturally expressive projects with high geometric and structural complexity.
In the high-rise building space, notable projects include the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai—the world’s tallest structure—the Central Market Development in Abu Dhabi, and Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur. His work involving long-span and geometrically complex structures includes the Singapore Sports Hub, Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, and a large, signature museum project in Abu Dhabi.
Innovative use of digital tools for holistic design collaboration has been a hallmark of Kermin’s career, earning him publication in multiple journals and industry conferences.
