Calogero Castania
An expert structural engineer, project manager, mentor, and relationship-builder, Calogero “Jerry” Castania manages a team of engineers in our New York headquarters, working closely with developers, architects, consultants, and contractors to deliver structural solutions from concept design to construction completion.
Working with DeSimone since 2006, Jerry has gained extensive experience in cast-in-place concrete, block and plank, and structural steel design, as well as renovation work. His current projects include 175 Third Street, an architecturally exposed concrete residential building near the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, Innovative Urban Village Phase 1A and 1B in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, which is comprised of four buildings with a combined 839 affordable housing units, and the Willets Point neighborhood development, Buildings 1, 2, and 3, a mixed-use project with 1,100 affordable housing units.
Previous projects include 520 W 28th Street, an 11-story high-end luxury residential development, West End Labs, a large-scale renovation that created a purpose-built state-of-the-art research and development hub, and Inspīr Carnegie Hill, a 23-story architecturally exposed high-rise senior living community.
