Borys I. Hayda
Having spent the majority of his career in DeSimone’s New York Office, Borys directs the design of large-scale award-winning structures across many of the firm’s sectors.
As Managing Principal, he is responsible for overseeing the professional development of technical staff through seminars and managing technical specifications, standards, and details (TAG).
Since 1988, Borys has been responsible for the structural design of DeSimone’s gaming projects, most recently the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Bristol, Virginia, and the Hard Rock Metropolitan Park in Queens. Related work has been in our hospitality sector, including the recent renovations at The Pierre, a luxury hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Past projects include the Element, a 33-story residential tower which won the 2007 CIB Award, City Point, a 1.8 million SF retail and residential space in Downtown Brooklyn, and the renovation of the New Amsterdam Theatre, which allowed Broadway to become what it is today. Borys also contributed to the renovation of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
