Ahmed Mantawy

With over 20 years of experience across numerous complex building types, Ahmed Mantawy leads structural design, project management, and construction administration as an Associate Principal in DeSimone’s Miami office.

Ahmed’s expertise ranges from structural design to renovation of existing buildings, adaptive reuse, peer reviews, and seismic retrofit projects. His experience with both new construction and large-scale rehabilitation highlights his versatility in tackling complex structural challenges for aviation, education, healthcare, stadiums, and mixed-use projects including high-rise buildings, among others.

Most recently, Ahmed has served as project manager of the Westin Cocoa Beach Resort, a U-shaped waterfront luxury resort in Cocoa Beach. His current project experience in Miami includes the 17-story Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel–Grand Hyatt, which sits upon a 5-story podium, as well as the distinctive Villa Miami, a 55-story, mixed-use, residential tower perched on the Miami waterfront.

Project completed prior to joining DeSimone include the Intuit Dome for the Los Angeles Clippers in Inglewood California, Delta’s LAX Skyway Project, Terminals 2 and 3 in Los Angeles, and the Loma Linda University Medical Center in California.

In 2018, one of Ahmed’s projects, Seaside Way Pedestrian Bridge, received the ENR ‘Best of the Best’ award in the Landscape/Urban Development Category.
