Part of Virginia’s Data Center Alley in Ashburn, which boasts the highest concentration of data centers in the world, Digital Realty Building P lies within the 2M SF Loudon III campus expansion. The two-story, steel-framed and pre-cast concrete structure supports 74 MW of IT load.

The DeSimone structural team used tilt-up engineering for the exterior, load-bearing, concrete walls and parapets, which included built-in louvers to conceal roof-mounted mechanical equipment. Electrical equipment is located in an adjacent yard.
Our selected approach to the structure’s design, in tandem with detailed coordination with the architects, allowed for significant use of glass in the facade in keeping with the aesthetic vision for the data centers. It is part of a repeatable design strategy across the campus to maximize efficiency in procurement and management.
Digital Realty Building P is SOC2, PCI-DS, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certified.
