DeSimone Acquires ESS Detailing, Expands Presence in India
Merger expands structural detailing and Fabrication Ready Modeling capacity in India
NEW YORK, NY, September 29, 2026 — DeSimone Consulting Engineering, the innovative, multi-service engineering firm headquartered in New York City, today announced it has acquired Mumbai-based ESS Detailing Services LLP, a highly respected provider of structural steel detailing and modeling services. The move strengthens and unifies the DeSimone global team’s ability to offer integrated engineering services, fabrication intelligence, constructability, and digital project delivery from design through fabrication and construction.
The acquisition, made through the company’s India subsidiary, DeSimone Consulting Engineering India Private Limited, amplifies DeSimone's industry-leading structural detailing and Fabrication Ready Modeling (FRM) capabilities while establishing a significant platform for the expansion of DeSimone's multidisciplinary engineering services in India. The merger supports DeSimone's strategy to fortify and broaden an array of curated services—most notably FRM, and its turnkey steel design and procurement delivery system—to offer enhanced value and service to clients.
The acquisition of ESS adds nearly 200 employes to the DeSimone team, empowering the company to bring its broader multidisciplinary engineering offering firmly into the Indian market and positioning the company to respond robustly to the country's rapidly growing construction and infrastructure sectors and increased demand for sophisticated, integrated engineering solutions.

DeSimone’s Fabrication Ready Modeling service involves a unique, in-house collaboration between structural engineers and detailers who create fabrication-ready LOD 400 models during the structural design process.
