We’re thrilled to announce our Chairman and CEO, Stephen V. DeSimone, PE, has been listed as one of Crain’s New York Business’s Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction, underscoring his commitment to advancing the engineering industry and growing DeSimone into a globally recognized firm.
An award-winning, visionary leader and engineer, Stephen embraces a nuanced and highly strategic approach to leadership, preserving our defining core values—outstanding engineering, innovation, and exceptional service—while stewarding us through an extended period of successful growth and thoughtful evolution.
Since taking the helm ten years ago, Stephen has nearly tripled the size of the company through expanding to offices in the UK, Canada, and South America and grown our integrated service offering through fostering talent and strategic acquisitions.
Consistently approachable and involved, Stephen leads cross-disciplinary engineering and specialized service teams to deliver some of the world’s most innovative projects—and earning the company multiple best workplace accolades. Under his leadership, we have completed scores of landmark, award-winning projects, including 220 Central Park South, the adaptive reuse of the historic Terminal Warehouse, the expansion and renovation of New York Historical, the first museum in New York City, 830 Brickell Avenue in Miami, the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music, and the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, the largest in the world.
Upcoming projects include 1401 Brickell Avenue in Miami for Santander Bank and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Miami, which replaces the recently demolished Mandarin Hotel, for which DeSimone served as structural engineer for the original hotel as well as the new development.
We’re proud to have Stephen as our Chairman and CEO and look forward to the next ten years of growth, innovation, and engineering excellence under his guidance.
