DeSimone Expands Dallas Leadership with Senior Associate Hire

Appointment of Jonathan Calton, PE, SE, reflects firm’s continued expansion of integrated services to serve clients nationwide

NEW YORK CITY, Jan. 22, 2026—DeSimone Consulting Engineering, a leading global company recognized for innovative structural design, and a multi-service, client-first business model, today announced the appointment of structural engineer Jonathan Calton, PE, SE, as Senior Associate in the firm’s Dallas office.

Calton will work closely with Principal and Director Thomas Taylor, PE, contributing to the delivery of innovative structural engineering solutions across a range of project types, assisting with the day-to-day management of the Dallas office, and upholding DeSimone’s long-held core values emphasizing exceptional service and trusted relationships.

“Jonathan Calton’s experience and technical strength make him an invaluable addition to our Dallas team,” said Taylor. “His leadership skill and collaborative mindset will be instrumental in the delivery of high-quality engineering and project solutions as we continue to expand our portfolio and presence across Texas.”

Calton brings to DeSimone experience working with multidisciplinary teams in the design of structures that can withstand high wind and seismic conditions, including projects requiring advanced analysis techniques and performance-based design approaches. Areas of expertise include evaluating how buildings respond to extreme loading and designing resilient, efficient structural systems for such site-specific conditions, as well as modelling and automation.

“DeSimone’s reputation in Dallas for thoughtful engineering, trusted client relationships, and close project collaboration is widely recognized,” said Calton, “and it will be my privilege to uphold and build upon that renown. I’m excited to contribute to the high caliber of structural design the Dallas team consistently delivers—and continue the DeSimone tradition of offering loyal, dedicated service and unparalleled engineering ingenuity to every client.”

Jonathan has designed a wide range of structural systems that include steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and hybrid materials, as well as tilt-up construction methods, often drawing upon his specialized experience with hot-rolled and cold-formed steel and conventionally reinforced and post-tensioned concrete. He has been a key contributor on numerous projects, working closely with architects, owners, and contractors to balance performance, constructability, and cost from early concept development through design and construction.

Calton’s project experience spans high-rise, industrial, residential, infrastructure, healthcare, aviation, and transportation facilities. He recently served as the performance-based, seismic design lead for the design of a highly irregular structure for a high-rise vertical village in Saudi Arabia. He has also led and supported the design of multiple manufacturing facilities, involving the incorporation of multiple structural systems and heavy crane runway systems.

Additional engineering achievements include mission-critical federal and military facilities involving both above- and below-ground performance-based design to protect buildings and occupants during extreme wind or seismic events—and ensure continued operations afterward. Calton also served as project manager and engineer of record for a range of healthcare facilities in North Texas, including the design of complex concrete framing systems for a number of new hospital and outpatient facilities, as well as the vertical expansion of multiple occupied and operating healthcare structures.

Calton’s appointment underscores DeSimone’s ongoing investment in exceptional talent and long-term strategy of organic growth, scaling teams and capabilities to offer innovative, integrated services across the development spectrum.
