The revitalized Greenwich train station has officially opened to the public, marking the completion of the first step in the redevelopment of Greenwich Crossing. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by The Ashforth Company, the completed 30,000 SF development will also include a 5,000 SF restaurant and upgrades to the surrounding retail.
Originally built in the 1970s, the Greenwich ConnDOT Metro-North Station was brought up to date, including recladding the façade and major improvements to the interior lobby areas. DeSimone’s structural engineers upgraded platform access and added new pedestrian pathways, granting enhanced access to commuters and visitors. The completed Greenwich Crossing is expected later this spring.
Managing Principal Ben Downing, PE, Associate Principal Michael Schwarz, PE, and Project Manager Aleksandra Bradley, PE, lead the structural engineering team for the redevelopment, with A.P. Construction as the construction manager, AKF Group LLC as the MEP engineer, and Redniss & Mead as the civil engineer and land surveyor.
